HOW TO GET THERE

Go to www.slimnaarantwerpen.be to plan your route smoothly. This website has the most up-to-date information on all possible routes to Sint-Jansplein. The event is easily accessible on foot from the surrounding neighborhoods and the city center.

Bike: the entire Pretstraat and Brugstraat around the square will be closed to traffic, and bike racks will be provided.

BIKE SHARING IN ANTWERP

  1. Velo shared bikes

Pick up a Velo shared bike from one of the more than 300 Velo stations in Antwerp or the districts, cycle to your destination, and return the city bike to a Velo station. Convenient and fast! If you want to grab a bike spontaneously at a station, you can request a code via the mobile website 24/7. Within a few minutes you'll be riding.

  1. Blue-bike shared bikes

Blue-bike offers shared bikes at more than 100 stations and Park and Ride locations across Belgium. You can easily check bike availability via the app. By logging in with your membership card, you get a key to unlock the bike. Bikes equipped with the new lock can be opened with your Blue-bike or MoBIB card, or with the Blue-bike app. You can order a Blue-bike card online or at a bike point during office hours. The prices below are cheaper with a subscription.

  • regular bike: 2 euros for 30 minutes, maximum 6 euros for 12 hours

  • electric bike: 4 euros for 30 minutes, maximum 12 euros for 12 hours

  1. Donkey Republic (electric) shared bikes

The (electric) shared bikes from Donkey Republic can be found at a designated "hub." You can find the exact locations of hubs in each municipality in the Donkey app, which you also need to rent and pay for a bike.

You can choose from:

  • Just Ride:
    €1.50 per 30 minutes for a regular bike
    €2.50 per 30 minutes for an electric bike

  • Day pass:
    €7 for a regular bike
    €10 for an electric bike

  • Subscriptions:
    €10 per month for a regular bike (1 hour per day)
    €25 per month for an electric bike (1 hour per day)

You unlock the bike via your phone's (bluetooth) connection. During use, you can lock or unlock the bike as often as you like. When you're done cycling, return the Donkey to an available hub nearby and end the rental in the app.


RENTING A BIKE IN ANTWERP

1.Swapfiets

Swapfiets is simple: for a fixed monthly fee (with a discount for students), customers get a city bike or an electric bike with gears, a double lock, lights, and theft insurance. In case of a defect, such as a flat tire, a bike mechanic will come to your location. They will repair the Swapfiets or "swap" it for another one. A Swapfiets can be recognized by its iconic blue front tire.

  1. Groep INTRO

Groep INTRO rents quality bikes to tourists, students, and businesses. The rental point in Antwerp is located at Central Station, at the metro and bike access under Astridplein. The bikes are the ideal way to get around for a day of shopping or exploring the city. You can easily reserve a bike by email or phone.

  1. Cyclant

Cyclant rents quality bikes of European manufacture. There are plenty of city bikes and a limited number of e-bikes available, as well as cargo bikes, longtails, and children's tandems, electric or not. They are also known for their excellent Santos trekking and gravel bikes, along with the first-class service that comes with it.

You can easily book via the website if you wish. The shop is located next to the entrance of Central Station.


RENTING A SCOOTER

With a shared scooter from Bolt, Lime, or Voi, you can navigate Antwerp effortlessly. You'll find scooters scattered throughout the city and can activate them easily via an app on your smartphone. Unlock the scooter and you're ready to go! After your ride, return the scooter to a designated drop zone or a spot where it won't bother anyone. Keep in mind that since July 1, 2025, the area within the Leien has been a no-park zone for shared scooters, so you can only park there in a drop zone.


PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Sint-Jansplein is easily accessible by public transport. Tram lines 2, 12, and 24 offer direct connections to Antwerp-Central. Bus 17 stops at Sint-Jansplein. Signage will be provided at the entrances and exits of the site directing visitors to the nearest tram and bus stops. On the De Lijn website and via www.slimnaarantwerpen.be, you can use the route planner to look up your entire route from your home address to Sint-Jansplein by train, tram, and bus.


CAR

There is an underground car park at Sint-Jansplein, Parking Indigo Sint-Jansplein, but spaces are limited. Visitors who do come by car are advised to use the P+R car parks on the outskirts of the city. From there, you can continue your journey by bus, tram, or bike.
